One minor Squid Game editing error has become viral on social media as the hit Netflix show might just have broken the fourth wall in the wrong way in its latest season.

Many have already blitzed through seven hours of television in the new season of Netflix's Squid Game following its December 26 release, engrossing themselves in the suspenseful story as Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) returns to the deadly game show for a second time.

It's understandably hard to take your eyes off the screen as the action unfolds, but some have taken their attentiveness to the next level by spotting something even the show's editors might have missed.

Pointed out by 'Rak' on X (formerly Twitter), there is a moment in the 22nd minute of season 2 episode 7 where various contestants are fighting with the pink guards, only there's a rather immersion-breaking blunder spotted at the side of the screen.

Right in the midst of the chaos you can spot a cameraman in plain clothes filming the action as it unfolds.

While some will be more than willing to slap the tin foil hats on and claim that this is Squid Game's secret reveal of a Truman Show-like fourth wall breaking revelation, but it's likely just a production error that has somehow slipped through the cracks.

This is far from the only instance of this happening, as the magic of the silver screen isn't always impervious to mistakes, but it's hard not to find humor whenever it occurs - especially if you managed to spot it for yourself.

One user jokes: "Bet he was just standing there like - y'all care about the rules? I'm just here for that prize money too, man!"

Another points out: "Tired editor detected. He/she must be exhausted during the shift. Terribly sorry for that."

Imagine over 68,000,000 people seeing your mistake... Ouch (Netflix)

It'd be a lie to say that we don't all make mistakes when doing our jobs, but unfortunately for this editor it just so happens that their mistake is seen by upwards of 68 million people across the streaming service and social media.

While anyone with a 'genius at work' t shirt might think that the editor's job might be on the line following the mistake, the fact that it's managed to slip through the cracks to release indicates that it's not just the error of one individual so they'll hopefully be safe.

It goes to show how easy it can be to miss something as obvious this though, as while millions will have watched this scene and not even batted an eyelid, it's impossible not to notice the poor cameraman now that it's been pointed out.
