Netflix rules explained for Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson amid fans concern over potential fines

Here's everything you need to know about viewing the fight

There is a lot of anticipation over the upcoming fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson.

Dubbed as one of the biggest boxing nights of the year, it’ll take place on Friday (November 15) at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Their ring walks are set to begin at 11pm ET and it’s estimated that it might draw in millions of viewers.

The fight was originally scheduled for July but had to be postponed after Tyson suffered health issues.

Now, he’ll need to pass two health tests in order to compete and the fight is at risk of being canceled just hours before it’s due to go ahead if he fails.

The tests include a brain test (EEG) and a heart test (EKG).

Tyson hasn’t been sanctioned for a professional fight in two decades but these tests are required by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

Will there be an added fee to watch the Paul vs Tyson fight?

The boxing match will be available to stream on Netflix but users have been questioning whether there will be a pay-per-view fee to access it on their account.

But fear not, if you’re already a Netflix subscriber there is no extra fee to watch the fight.

It will be available using a standard Netflix subscription.

The plan with ads costs $6.99 a month and without ads it’s $15.49.

In theory, this means you could sign up for one month and pay just under seven bucks to see the event.

There has been a stir on social media after fans worried that they would need to buy a TV license to avoid any potential fines.

This will only affect viewers tuning in from the UK as they will need a license in order to legally view the live showing.

Ahead of the fight, Tyson shared the motivation behind his decision to take part.

Speaking to LADbible Group, he said: “This fight is not going to change my life financially. If I did it for free, it’s not going to change my life financially. My wife is constantly telling me, you do not need to do this fight.”

Since money isn't his motivation, why exactly is Tyson doing the fight?

Well, he explained: “This is what I want to do, this is me. I’m seeking my glory.”

While it’s not clear exactly how much money the fighters are set to make, Paul did hint that there is some serious cash involved.

Speaking at a news conference in August, the YouTuber said: “I'm here to make $40 million and knock out a legend.”
