One of the world's largest cities is home to 32,000,000 people and you've probably never heard of it.

One man decided to visit the mega city and lift the lid on a place that a lot of people had no idea existed.

China is home to a major city - Chongqing - found in the southwest of the country and houses a whopping 32 million residents.

But despite its enormous population, the cyberpunk-esque city has seemed to fly under the radar.

Wanting to find out more, a YouTuber known as Ben Morris decided to pay the place a visit, documenting the experience for his YouTube channel.

Exploring the area, the content creator was surprised by how hilly it is, showing how a level pathway was actually ‘on the 22nd floor’ but just a short walk away and he reached a public road.

Morris went on to meet with locals, try local delicacies, and take in the unique views.

The YouTuber shared that the city had a ‘cyberpunk’ feel to it, with bright lights and densely populated streets.

Despite it being a hidden gem in China, the city is growing in popularity, with many taking to social media to share their thoughts on the place.

With some reacting in the YouTube comment section, one user said: “Having roads at the 22nd floor is just mental.

Seen a couple videos of this already but it looks like something out of a movie at this location! Sick.”

Over on Reddit, one user wrote: “As somebody who is in love with and obsessed with the cyberpunk aesthetic, I can tell you that certain cities in China are the most like cyberpunk irl you can find in the world. Some cities are just uncannily cyberpunk.”

Another said: “This makes U.S. cities look basic af. We gotta step our game up.”

A third person commented: “Those are some insane views, seems like a crazy place. I wonder how it is living there..”

A fourth wrote: “China doesn’t just look cyberpunk, it actually is cyberpunk. Big corporations + technocratic authoritarianism + advanced state AI and surveillance technologies + monstrous megalopolises = China.

“Edit: oh and also don’t forget a healthy dose of environmental pollution.”

And a fifth user added: “Cool, just need flying cars and cyber implants and we will officially be living in cyberpunk. I know we have drones and some implant stuff but we need to step it up!”
