It turns out there is a video for everything after a YouTube clip has gone viral to explain exactly how much gas is wasted every day in the US and how much money it's actually worth.
If you’ve ever wondered how much money you could save if you collected every single drop of gasoline that is spilled daily in US gas stations then look no further.
This is because one YouTuber has done the math for us to work out just how much cash is being lost on split gas every day.
And according to Zack D. Films, it’s not an amount to be sniffed at.

In the video, Zack explained: “When you take the nozzle out of your car, a few drops of gasoline spill to the ground.
“Now, it would only be about a few milliliters of gas, but around 37 million cars fill up every day, and most spill just a little as the nozzle comes out.
“If you collected every drop from every gas station in the US, you'd have around 37,000 gallons. That's enough to drive a car around the entire planet nearly 30 times.”

Many people on social media were shocked to find out just how much gas is being wasted when filling up your car, with some taking to the YouTube comment section to share their own thoughts on the matter.
One user wrote: “This is why I always shake the pump inside the tank so no free drips fall to the ground.”
Another said: “And it would cost you hundreds of thousands just trying to travel around collecting gas from every petrol station in the US! Never mind the insane cost of storing and filtering it all. What kind of cartoon mission is that?”

A third commented: “No way this happens every time! I always make sure I shake it a bit before pulling it out tilted upward. Else, that drop may end up on your hand; I learnt this lesson the hard way.”
And a fourth person explained how much cash that gas would make you, adding: “For anyone wondering, you could sell all the gas you collect and make over $100k.”
This isn’t the first time the YouTuber has surprised his viewers with fascinating content as one of Zack’s videos detailed a fascinating simulation that shows how to actually break into a safe.
Although this proved to be a controversial tutorial with many viewers pointing out that it might not be the best idea to post about online as it could fall into the wrong hands.
