Streamers Nickmercs and TimTheTatman respond to Dr Disrespect's admission of why he was banned from Twitch

The comments come after the 42-year-old posted a lengthy statement on the matter to social media.

Two popular streamers have broken their silence on Dr Disrespect after he admitted to exchanging messages with a minor.

In 2020, Herschel ‘Guy’ Beahm - better known by his online alias Dr Disrespect - mysteriously had his Twitch channel taken down.

The streamer's ban is thought to have taken place around halfway through his exclusivity contract with the company but no details were released at the time of the axing.

However, according to former Account Director of Strategic Partnership at Twitch, Cody Conners, the 42-year-old’s presence was wiped because he ‘got caught sexting a minor’.

The Californian has since confirmed he was conversing with an ‘individual minor’ in 2017 but alleged there was never any ‘real intention’ behind the messages.

“These were casual, mutual conversations that sometimes leaned too much in the direction of being inappropriate, but nothing more,” he stated.

“Nothing illegal happened, no pictures were shared, no crimes were committed, I never even met the individual.”

Following the admittance, fellow streamers Tim ‘TimTheTatman’ Betar and Nicholas ‘Nickmercs’ Kolcheff have had their say on the situation.

On Tuesday (June 25), the pair uploaded videos to X, formerly known as Twitter, within two minutes of each other, with TimTheTatman saying: “Wow, absolutely insane bro, everything I’m seeing.

“I have known Doc for a while now, we’ve played games for years and seeing everything that is spiralling right is a very difficult thing for me personally and I’m sure for a lot of y’all out there.”

He continued to explain he was delivering his opinion on the matter because fans were repeatedly asking how he was feeling.

“I think for me - I know a lot of you are asking ‘Tim, how are you feeling?’ - my bottom line is if what he said that he was messaging a minor and it would sometimes teeter on the edge. If he knew that was a minor and those were the messages being sent I cannot support that.

He added that he appreciates all of his fans and that the situation was ‘unfortunate to say the least’.

Meanwhile, Nickmercs said in a 55-second video that he was also ‘seeing everything on Twitter’ and had already digested Dr Disrespect’s tweet.

“In that very tweet he basically confirms that he was texting an underage girl and it went weird sometimes,” he said in the clip,

“Just to be blunt and straightforward, that’s inexcusable, it’s unacceptable.”

The streamer added that he can’t ‘support’ or ‘defend’ the streamer’s actions before reiterating that it all feels a ‘little weird’.

Following Conners’ allegation against Dr Disrespect, the YouTuber said that he wasn’t ‘going anywhere’ and that a criminal case had never been brought against him.

“If you're uncomfortable with this entire statement and think I'm a piece of s**t, that's fine,” he typed. “But I'm not f****ng going anywhere.

“I’m not the same guy that made this mistake all those years ago. I'm taking an extended vacation with my family as mentioned on stream and I'm coming back with a heavy weight off my shoulders.”
