There has been a huge new update on the man who returned to land he’d bought in 1991 only to find that a $1.5 million house had been built on it.
The plot of land was built on without the owner’s knowledge and an update has now been confirmed after the property dispute came to a close.
Dr Daniel Kenigsberg had originally bought the land back in 1991 because it was next to his childhood home and he had plans of passing the land down in his family.

He’d been offered money in the past from developers to purchase the land but he had always refused.
So it was a huge shock to him when he discovered last year that someone had begun building a four-bedroom house on it.
A report by NBC New York revealed that the developers behind the property argued that they had actually bought the plot for $350,000 back in October 2022.

But Kenigsberg disagreed, saying that a ‘fraudulent’ document had been given to a lawyer by someone claiming to be him in South Africa.
In the lawsuit, it stated: “Dr Kenigsberg has never lived in Johannesburg, South Africa and was not traveling there in 2022.”
Suing the developers, Sky Top Partners LLC, he was seeking damages of up to $2 million.
Afterwards, the developers alleged that they had been the victims of a scam by someone pretending to be Kenigsberg.

In a statement, they said: “We learned to our shock and dismay that Dr Kenigsberg had not, in fact, sold the property to us.
“Rather, a third-party had impersonated Dr Kenigsberg and – through the carelessness and neglect of the various real estate professionals involved in the transaction – managed to list, market, and sell the property without anyone ever catching on.”
Now, there has been a major update on the situation as the case has now come to a close.

Kenigserg has agreed to settle with the developers, although the specific terms of the settlement have not been released to the public.
But it is understood that Kenigsberg received a payout for the ordeal.
It would also appear that the man has decided to wipe his hands entirely of the plot of land instead of keeping it in his family.
According to reports made by Patch, the property has since sold for a total of $1.45 million after the settlement was reached between the two parties.
