Trump backtracks on Epstein Files with explosive warning to Democrats after shocking email revelation

Documents involving Jeffrey Epstein have been released

President Donald Trump has backtracked on the Epstein Files with an explosive warning to Democrats after there was a shocking email revelation.

The dramatic u-turn on his stance over the files has come after he previously refused to have the documents released.

However, last week, the Oversight Committee released the documents as part of its investigation into Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

In the files made public, the president was repeatedly referenced in conversations between Epstein and Maxwell.

Despite having been a former friend of the late convicted sex offender, Trump has maintained that he was never aware of Epstein’s crimes.

Appearing to change his mind on his resistance to release the files, Trump took to his own social media platform Truth Social to write: “House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files, because we have nothing to hide.

“And it’s time to move on from this Democrat Hoax perpetrated by Radical Left Lunatics in order to deflect from the Great Success of the Republican Party, including our recent Victory on the Democrat ‘Shutdown’.”

His statement continued: “The House Oversight Committee can have whatever they are legally entitled to, I DON’T CARE! All I do care about is that Republicans get BACK ON POINT, which is the Economy, ‘Affordability’.

“Nobody cared about Jeffrey Epstein when he was alive and, if the Democrats had anything, they would have released it before our Landslide Election Victory. Some ‘members’ of the Republican Party are being 'used', and we can’t let that happen.”

Epstein was found dead in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan, New York City in August 2019. The financier had been arrested earlier that year and died aged 66 while awaiting trial for charges related to sex trafficking.

In the emails released last week, one message between Epstein and author Michael Wolff had the financier claim that Trump ‘knew about the girls’.

Epstein wrote: “[Victim name - redacted] mara lago. [redacted]. trump said he asked me to resign, never a member ever. . of course he knew about the girls as he asked ghislaine to stop.”

Trump has repeatedly denied knowing about the sex trafficking that Epstein was conducting and insisted that the pair had a falling out years before he was arrested and charged.

Following the contents of the emails being leaked and Trump being named, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement provided to LADbible Group: “The Democrats selectively leaked emails to the liberal media to create a fake narrative to smear President Trump.

“These stories are nothing more than bad-faith efforts to distract from President Trump’s historic accomplishments, and any American with common sense sees right through this hoax and clear distraction from the government opening back up again.”
