There is a terrifying list that reveals which cities within the US could be most at risk if World War III was to break out.

This comes after President Donald Trump announced on Monday (March 2) that he has plans to completely destroy Iran’s nuclear programme along with its missile capabilities and navy.

Trump went on to reveal that he aims to ensure that Iran ‘cannot continue to arm, fund and direct terrorist armies outside of their borders’.

This follows after the president’s statements saying that the US has assumed ‘major combat operations’ against the Middle Eastern nation.

Both the US and Israel continue their air strikes on Iran and now fears are growing that this conflict could escalate to a full-blown world war.

And now, concerns are being raised that amid the dispute, the US could become a target.

There are some places such as Washington DC and New York City that are likely to be major targets if air strikes are carried out on US soil, but which other cities could also be at risk?

A report by the Daily Mail details 13 other places within the country that could become a target if things escalate.

This comes after a Russian state TV channel broadcasted a list of potential targets in the US back in 2019 which could face a nuclear attack in the future.

So, which cities are under threat? First up is Houston, Texas, which is one of the largest cities in the US and is home to huge oil refineries and shipping ports.

Next up is Los Angeles in California which is home to many space firms and global media companies, meaning it could be a target.

Also in California, San Francisco could be at risk with its finance and technology sectors.

Travel north up the coast and you’ll find Seattle, Washington, which is home to one of the navy’s largest submarine and nuclear facilities.

Meanwhile Honolulu, Hawaii, Ogden and Clearfield, Utah, Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Great Falls, Montana, all house military bases, making them targets for potential attacks.

Shreveport, Louisiana, is home to nuclear bases, while Colorado Springs in Colorado has multiple military facilities including the North American Aerospace Defense Command and Peterson Space Force Base.

Omaha, Nebraska, could be at risk of attacks as it is located near one of the most important command centers in the country’s nuclear defense system, while Albuquerque, New Mexico, houses one of the biggest concentrations of nuclear weapons in the entire US.

Last but not least is Chicago, Illinois, which could face an attack due to its infrastructure and transportation links that connect shipping networks across the country.
