Elon Musk's estranged daughter has issued a response to the billionaire's 'gesture' on stage at Trump's inauguration.

The controversy surrounding Elon Musk continues after he was accused of performing a 'Nazi gesture' during President Donald Trump's inauguration on January 20. Giving an emotive speech to crowds at the Capitol One Arena, Musk broke the internet when he performed some form of salute. Opinions were split on what he was trying to do, and after performing the salute once, Musk then went and did it again.

Some have rushed to his defense, while ex-partner Grimes has been forced to speak out about Musk for the second time in less than a week.

Musk himself has clapped back at his critics, saying: "Frankly, they need better dirty tricks. The 'everyone is Hitler' attack is so tired."

One person who's made their feelings particularly clear is Vivian Wilson. The 21-year-old is one of Musk's 12 children but they stopped talking in 2022. Wilson filed a petition to change her name and gender, while Musk himself claims his child was 'killed' by a 'woke mind virus'.

Even though Musk refuses to acknowledge her as his daughter, she's seemingly taken to the internet to share her thoughts on THAT gesture.

Although Wilson doesn't directly name Elon Musk, she posted on Threads and wrote: I'm just gonna say let's call a spade a f**king spade.

"Especially if there were two spades done in succession based on the reaction of the first spade."

For anyone struggling to connect the dots, she seemed to call out the defense that Musk didn't realize the potential connotation of his gesture due to his autism.

Wilson continued: "I don't know why y'all are reacting with such vigour, I'm clearly only talking about card suits.

"I mean I have ADHD and this was CLEARLY just an accident that people happened to interpret to mean something other than just card suits.

"After all, there's no proof I'm not just talking about card suits. Y'know... people assuming that I'm not just talking about card suits just goes to show how dishonest people/the media can be.

"For those who can read between the lines, do y'all understand how f**king easy this is to do? Plausible deniability honey. Just saying."

This isn't Wilson's first criticism of her father and his new political path. She notably said she was going to leave the USA following Donald Trump's victory in November 2024.

More recently, she responded to Trump's "Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government" order. Also posting on Threads, Wilson shared a link to the order and said: "I want every single trans person to read this document. It is important to understand what we are fighting against and the shamelessness of their hatred."

As for Musk, many were confused by what he was trying to do, with some claiming it was the controversial Roman salute. Andrea Stroppa is a Rome-based advisor to Musk and wrote in a (now-deleted) post: "The Roman empire is back, starting with the Roman salute."

After the Roman salute was adopted by Italy’s fascist leader, Benito Mussolini, the Nazi party is said to have created its own salute as a similar gesture. Even if Musk wasn't aware of what he was doing, members of the far-right have been celebrating the gesture. With the debate raging on, it's clear that there's no love lost between Wilson and Musk.
