The Christian Bible is typically split into 66 books, with 39 being in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament, but what about the missing ones?
You may or may not have heard about the Book of Barnabas or the Book of Enoch, and while not 'banned', the fact that they're not included in the Hebrew and Christian canons speaks volumes.
A new video from Riddle dives into the 'terrifying' history of the Bible and what facts the Vatican is apparently 'hiding' from us.

The video hones in on the Book of Barnabas, which was unearthed in Cyprus in 2000, and only handed over to the Ethnography Museum of Ankara in 2012.
The book was supposedly written by the Apostle called Barnabus, and while the Bible says there were only 12 Apostles, the Book of Barnabas (conveniently) says there were over 70.
Barnabas spectacularly claims that Jesus Christ was just a mere mortal man who foresaw the 'real' messiah coming some 500 years later.
This actually lines up with what Muslims believe, considering Muhammad was born in Mecca five centuries after Jesus.

There are some pretty wild ideas, like heaven being split into nine levels, with saints living it up at the top and the lower levels feeling pretty similar to our life on Earth.
The most spectacular involved the Last Supper, including the notion that Jesus knew Judas would betray him, and instead, was pulled out of the window by angels.
At the same time, God apparently changed Judas' face to look like Jesus, meaning it was actually him who was nailed on the cross.

While this might just sound like someone trying to get back at Paul, the Book of Barnabas raised eyebrows because the Church is said to have drawn out legal proceedings by simply wanting it to be given to the museum without proper analysis.
The Vatican is accused of tweaking the bible for its narrative, and in 1684, there was a 'cleansing' that removed 14 of the original 80 books. There's a mention of how the Gospel of Thomas includes 114 sayings attributed to Jesus, with 40 not being found anywhere else in the Holy Scripture, and around 20 of them supposedly containing some controversial remarks about women.
Still, Riddle notes that the Book of Barnabas looks like it was specifically written by someone who could predict the future, thanks to many of his terms being directly tied to much later terms, or was a Medieval author trying to make his own additions to the Bible.

Modern experts believe that the Book of Barnabas wasn't written 1500 years ago, but was incorrectly dated and was actually written in the year 1500.
Medium also talks about the Book of Enoch and its 'terrifying' mention of heavenly beings known as the Nephilim. These seductive creatures apparently fell from grace, with Enoch's Book of Watchers talking about how messengers fell into our realms of moral decay and forbidden relationships where hidden knowledge spreads among the population and moral values decline.
After the Book of Enoch was discovered in a remote area of Ethiopia, it was only in year 1773 that scholars started to look into it.
On the site of the Vatican is the secret Apostolic Archive that contains 85 km of shelving and 35,000 volumes. Only qualified scholars who are over the age of 75 are allowed in there, leading to plenty of conspiracy theories about what the Church is really keeping from us. As the Riddle video concludes: "Whether you trust the Bible or not is a matter of personal choice, but it's hard to disagree that the Vatican has made a lot of questionable moves to erode our confidence in it."
