Shocking moment Joe Rogan is told about Charlie Kirk's shooting in the middle of filming podcast

Charlie Kirk was shot and killed on stage in Utah this week

The shocking moment when Joe Rogan found out about Charlie Kirk’s shooting was captured on camera during the filming of his podcast.

Both Rogan and his podcast guest Charlie Sheen reacted to the news of Kirk’s death during the recording after the political commentator was shot on stage on Wednesday (September 10).

Kirk was at Utah Valley University (UVU) speaking to a crowd of around 3,000 people on the first stop of his ‘American Comeback’ tour when gunfire rang out.

Videos captured the moment the political pundit fell from his seat after being struck in his neck.

It was later confirmed that Kirk had died from his injuries sustained in the gunshot wound.

Reacting to the announcement, both Rogan and Sheen were stunned at the news.

Rogan said: “Should we bring this up? I guess we have to. So this has just happened. We just found out that Charlie Kirk got shot.”

“That’s f***ing awful,” Sheen replied.

“And is he dead?” Rogan asked his producer Jamie Vernon, who could be heard saying ‘no, I don’t think so’.

Later, Rogan added: “One of the guys out there just said it was confirmed that he was dead.”

“Murdered for having a different opinion from somebody else,” Sheen replied. “Different ideology from somebody else... beliefs that didn’t align.”

The below video contains strong language:

“Yeah. Yeah,” Rogan said, finding it difficult to choose his words. “I mean... I don’t know who did it or…”

It was at this point Vernon confirmed the reports which said Kirk had died from the shooting, prompting Sheen to say ‘rest in peace, f***, he didn’t deserve that, nobody deserves that’.

Rogan said: “There’s going to be a lot of people celebrating this. It’s so scary. It’s so dangerous too, to celebrate or to in any way encourage this kind of behaviour from human beings.

“He’s not a violent guy, he’s talking, talking to people on college campuses. He wasn’t even particularly rude. He tried to be pretty reasonable with people.

“He’s a very intelligent guy whether you agree with him or don’t, and there’s a lot of stuff I didn’t agree with him on, that’s fine. You’re allowed to disagree with people without celebrating the fact that he got shot.

“What you’re supposed to do with a guy like that if you’re opposing him is debate him, have a conversation where your argument is more compelling than his. That’s what people should be celebrating, discourse, we used to do that.”

The shooter remains at large and an FBI manhunt is underway in a bid to track the culprit down.
