Not every PlayStation system update is going to be noteworthy, but the latest version has left many fans feeling frustrated after the changes quietly dropped onto their consoles overnight.
PlayStation 5 owners have access to many of the biggest games releasing and can take advantage of stunning graphics, especially if they've got the upgraded PS5 Pro variant, yet even the simplest things can leave them feeling unsatisfied.
It's clearly not enough to have games brought over from Xbox or a barrage of free titles with PlayStation Plus, as many have vented their frustrations following the latest console system update.

What was included in the latest system update?
As reported by GAMINGbible, the latest PlayStation 5 system update (25.05-11.60.00.05) arrived overnight, and as it's only 1.34GB you can go ahead and download it right now to take advantage of the new features that have been added.

What are those new features, I hear you asking? Unfortunately, the only thing that has been added with this update is "improved system software performance and stability," with those last four words being the bane of any PlayStation fan who is waiting for long-requested features to be implemented.
What these 'performance and stability' improvements actually amount to is unclear, and there's a very strong chance that you won't notice anything different when you're actually using your console and playing your favorite games, yet it appears essential for Sony nonetheless.
How have people reacted to this update?
While you might think that it's a harmless update that nobody could find anything wrong with, it's what's not included that has left many enraged as opposed to then contents that you'll actually be downloading.

Many people are fed up waiting for certain features to be added, with key Discord functionality being a high priority on many people's lists.
"Can we just get discord screen share already man," vents one gamer on a Reddit thread for the update, with another adding that they're "just thankful we have Discord chat at this point."

Another jokes that they "don't know how more stable my console can get," with a third adding that "it's not stable enough till you hear horses neighing from inside it."

Others have requested that Sony finally add a way to disable the 'You have entered a blocked scene' notification which appears even when you're not recording gameplay, as that has long been a frustration and distraction when playing countless different titles.
Regardless, people seem to just be fed up of updates that add no noticeable changes to their consoles, especially when there are countless requests that appear to have been ignored by PlayStation for years at this point.
