Your next gaming obsession might just be hidden in this months's PlayStation Plus line up, as Sony has quietly added a game with over 600 hours of fun that you definitely won't want to overlook.

Any PlayStation Plus subscribers will tell you how exciting it is when the latest Essential games get announced, as you'll imminently be able to add three fantastic titles to your library and keep them forever - or as long as your subscription lasts.

While some drops are spearheaded by underrated gems the community begs people to give a try, most months are fronted by some of the biggest games in recent years, including many that were among the best in the year they released.

July's selection is no different here, but while the allure of it's flagship title will understandably draw people's attention, many are urging players to try out one under appreciated experience that you can play for more than 600 hours.

What are the PS Plus games for July 2025?

As revealed by PlayStation on Thursday, this month's PS Plus Essential collection includes Cyberpunk 2077, Abiotic Factor, and Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden - the latter of which was developed by DONTNOD who recently made another one of its games free.

Joining them in the Extra and Premium tiers are Bluey: The Videogame, Planet Zoo, Risk of Rain 2, Tropico 6, New World: Aeternum, and Twisted Metal 3 & 4.

To nobody's surprise it's Cyberpunk 2077 that most people are jumping onto their PlayStation consoles to download, as CD Projekt RED's futuristic action RPG, while controversial at release, is now considered one of the best games of the decade so far by many.

It's a game that can really show off the visual potential of your powerful console, and PS Plus members can also get a 30% discount for the highly-acclaimed Phantom Liberty DLC as well, completing the experience.

However, you'd be remiss to ignore the rest of the titles in the lineup though, and one game in particular can give you hundreds of hours of action that you might not have considered so far.

What PS Plus game can you play for 600+ hours?

As reported by GAMINGbible, f you've got the Extra or Premium tier of PlayStation Plus then you should definitely check out New World: Aeternum by Amazon Games, as its a supernatural MMORPG experience that still has a thriving fan base years after its release.

MMOs don't always find a home on console thanks to being generally a PC-first experience, so gamers should definitely take advantage of them when they arrive, and it's perfect to play with friends too - you don't even need to convince them to spend money!

According to completion time tracking website HowLongToBeat, New World takes anywhere between 58.5 and 656 hours to complete, with most playthroughs leaning towards the latter end of the scale as you'll want to go through all of the postgame and exploration content that's available.

Being an MMO you can technically play it for as long as you like, and you can add even more hours to the fun if you dive into the action with your friends, as mentioned, so if you've already played Cyberpunk or simply want something a bit different, then definitely give New World a go.
