Most people prefer to access adult content through means that conceal their activity, and that's part of the reason why Pornhub's predominant traffic source is mobile phones.
There are still a number of other popular means that people opt for to watch videos on the site, including desktop PCs, laptops, and even tablets, but there remains one unexpected source that continues to be surprisingly popular each year.
Pornhub's Year in Review roundup has revealed some fascinating trends as 2025 comes to a close, as not only do we get to see which video games and movie characters people have been searching the most, but we've also discovered that podcasts have experienced a surprising jump in popularity on the site.

By far one of the most intriguing revelations though is Pornhub's traffic breakdown for video game consoles, as you might be shocked to find out that a non-insignificant number of people prefer to access the site through their gaming gadgets.
As revealed by this year's rundown, by far the most popular console for viewing Pornhub in 2025 was the PlayStation 5, with 66 percent of all traffic coming from Sony's flagship device.
On top of this, 32 percent comes from its predecessor, with the PlayStation 4 holding strong when it comes to intimate activity despite being phased out over half a decade ago.
You might have noticed one rather alarming detail when adding up those two figures though, as shockingly only 2 percent of all game console traffic came from Xbox consoles — both the newer Series X|S models and the previous generation's Xbox One.
This is staggering enough on its own, but only becomes more fascinating compared to 2024's totals, as there was a 69 percent decline in Xbox-sourced traffic to Pornhub, completely wiping out its market share.
It's unclear quite how many people this represents on the whole as presumably games consoles are still relatively low when it comes to overall traffic, yet it does perhaps indicate a wider trend in the gaming industry.
It's long been clear that PlayStation has 'won' the console wars, as Sony dramatically overtook Microsoft from a sales perspective after the PS4 and Xbox One went head to head and the gap has only increased ever since.
This could, however, indicate that things are really not looking good for Xbox and that even porn watchers are opting for PlayStation at an alarming rate.
One positive trend for the gaming industry as a whole is that traffic for the Meta Quest VR headset increased by 47.5 percent compared to 2024, so while Mark Zuckerberg's dreams of the Metaverse might be long dead, there's still plenty of people buying and using virtual reality devices, even if it might just be for porn.
