Abandoned Tesla Roadster left untouched since 2019 now looks like ‘a scene out of The Last of Us’
This neglected Tesla Roadster seems to have become one with nature.

One unfortunate vehicle seems to have been abandoned by its owner in a parking space, and it seems to have become one with nature.
Reddit user faszer posted the dystopian-looking image on the subreddit r/teslamotors, saying the car was found in San Francisco.
The picture shows a blue Roadster - Tesla's electric sports car - dusty and dirty, with weeds growing out of its wheel.
It's quite a creepy image, and it's got everyone saying the same thing.

"Looks like The Last of Us set," one Redditor commented, while another agreed: "Wow. If you squint, could be a scene out of The Last of Us. So sick!"
They're referring to last year's wildly popular HBO adaptation of the Naughty Dog video game franchise, The Last of Us.
Set in a post-apocalyptic United States, society has collapsed after a plant fungi has taken over the world and turned people into zombies. Surviving humans have squeezed into safe enclaves - meaning the rest of the country has become overgrown, with technology at a standstill and the remnants of buildings and cars becoming part of the greenery.

That seems to be what's happening to this unfortunate Roadster, with one Redditor noting: "It's more nature than machine now."
According to the original poster, that car has been sitting there for five years - meaning it's one of the first generation Roadsters, which were produced between 2008 and 2012. Tesla didn't make a huge number of these cars, meaning they're pretty rare - and they were undoubtedly groundbreaking, becoming the first lithium-ion powered, 200-plus-mile range electric car to hit the roads.
The Roadster reached new levels of fame when Tesla CEO Elon Musk sent a red version of the car into space - and it's still floating around out there.
With this kind of history, some Redditors are sad to see the San Francisco model so neglected.
"What a shame, it's a pretty color and a rare car. Hopefully one day it can get put in a garage and treated with some respect," one wrote.
Another chimed in: "What a sad sight for such a dope car."
While a third couldn't help but crack a joke: "Abandoned? That's just what you do when you get a sweet, free parking space in San Francisco. You never let it go!"
Who knows? Maybe the original owner has swapped his old car out for a brand new Cybertruck.
