Russian intelligence reveals shocking 'body double' theory about Adolf Hitler

It's far from the first conspiracy that Hitler didn't die in 1945

Even 80 years after Adolf Hitler supposedly took his own life in his Berlin Führerbunker, there are conspiracy theories aplenty that this wasn't the end of his life. With the final days of World War II being defined by the Battle of Britain, Hitler apparently realized he was going to lose and put a gun to his head. The bodies of him and Eva Braun were reportedly taken into the Reich Chancellery garden and burned, with dental remains being the only part of his body that were ever recovered.

The aftermath of Adolf Hitler's demise led to plenty of rumors that he fled to Argentina, while declassified CIA files confirm the Americans were actively looking into his supposed escape plan even years after he died in 1945.

Even if Hitler had managed to fake his death, the fact that he would be 136 by now means he's long dead. Still, that hasn't stopped unearthed Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB) files from suggesting that the Russians were also going with the idea that the Führerbunker wasn't Hitler's final stand.

The FSB files were revealed 80 years after Hitler's death on April 30, shining new light on his demise. These documents include statements and interrogation notes from Hitler's valet, SS-Sturmbannführer Heinz Linge, as well as his personal adjutant, SS-Sturmbannführer Otto Günsche.

Linge and Günsche were detained by the Soviets after WWII ended, with their testimonies helping Joseph Stalin understand what happened to Hitler and the Nazi Party's collapse.

Even though we've known for some time that these statements existed, it's the first time they've been made public.

Testimonies say how Linge was the first to come across the scene of Hitler's apparent suicide, with Günsche helping him carry Hitler and Braun's bodies upstairs to be burned - as per the Führer's instructions.

Linge claims that a 'deluded' Hitler killed himself on April 30 amid fears that he would be "caught while trying to escape from Berlin."

A Russian archivist is featured in a video talking about Linge’s account, with mentions of how Hitler took his life because "he believed it was utterly pointless to continue the fight."

The account continues: “There was also his severe physical condition, which was beyond doubt, as well as his delusions of grandeur, which would not allow him to bow to the victor or enter into negotiations with him."

As for the idea that Hitler used a body double, a note translated from Russian (via the Daily Mail) has Linge saying: "A double of Hitler could not have committed suicide because: 1) Hitler did not have a double. 2) It was impossible to leave the premises without being seen, as there was only one exit from the room. 30.12.45. Linge Heinz."

Of course, this isn't enough for the conspiracy theorists, who will surely latch onto the fact that Linge admits he changed his testimony as the months went on. In the testimony, Linge says: "I must admit that my earlier testimony was incorrect.

"I did not hear any gunshot sounds but only noticed the smell of gunpowder and, based on that, informed Bormann that the suicide had occurred....

"I previously stated incorrectly that Eva Braun's body was wrapped in a blanket. I now recall that it was not."

Footage also shows Hitler's teeth, with Russian defence ministry channel Zvezda TV adding: "Here they are, particles of universal evil."

Referring to Hitler as "a man whose very name makes even water molecules take on hideous forms," the channel marked 80 years since the death of a man who was "the main culprit of the bloodiest war in human history."
