A Romanian man left home, expected to return on the same day, didn't return until 30 years later... wearing the exact same clothes.
Vasile Gorgos was 63 when he left home for a short business trip in 1991.
As a cattle farmer and trader, Vasile frequently took short trips, buying his train ticket in advance.

His family expected him back that same day and so when he didn't return, his family immediately reported him missing.
Days turned into weeks, months, and then years, with no sign of Vasile.
Questions were left unanswered and his loved ones were forced to assume the worst.

Then three decades later, on 29 August 2021, a shocking twist happened.
A car pulled up in front of the 30-year-old family's home and out stepped a confused-looking elderly man.
The man was no other than Vasile, now 93 years old, but wearing the exact same clothes he left in all those years ago.
He even had the same train ticket in his pocket.

But before anyone had a chance to ask the driver anything, they sped away.
When Vasile was asked where he’d been, he simply said he’d been 'at home,' according to Mediumreports.
He went through a full medical check-up but found nothing out of the ordinary and his overall health was surprisingly good.
Indeed, the 93-year-old’s memory of his home, his family, and his life 30 years ago was near-perfect.

Although his memory of his home and family from 30 years ago was sharp, before his disappearance, he had no recollection of the past three decades.
Of course, this put his family into an endless spiral of questions - along with everyone who heard the story on social media.
One theory from Gone, But Never Forgotten suggested Vasile might have left his life and family behind, perhaps to live it with someone else.

As such, he 'wanted to make amends with his former family before he passed away.'
However, this raises the question of: how can you make peace when you don’t remember where you’ve been or why?
To this day, Vasile's disappearance is still a complete mystery.
