This came after another car had approached Watson and the person inside started shooting, according to the Chicago Police Department.
This all took place just a few blocks away from a police station located in South Austin on Wednesday (August 13).
Speaking to ABC7, Watson’s cousin, Jacquez Smith, said: “He was choking for breath. He was trying to struggle to breathe.”
Smith added: “I wouldn’t have let him walk out the store. He was a good man. No matter what he done, he helped people, you know? He helped me get this job in here.”

The incident occurred after Watson had left Smith’s place of employment at a local liquor store and started to stream online in his car.
Watson died as a result of his injuries and the Cook County Medical Examiner confirmed his identity.
Left shocked and devastated by the events, Watson’s friends and family are now trying to piece together what happened.
Alvin Jackson, who is a close friend and a witness to the murder, said: “He was talking to a guy, and he was going to his car, then the guy followed behind him. So, the guy followed behind him and pulled the gun on him. He was trying to wrestle with the gun, and the gun went off.”

Close friend Freddie Collier added: “We’re going to have to figure out how to move on and be strong, day to day, to help each other get past this, because this didn’t just hurt one person. This hurt a lot of us.”
According to relatives, Watson was murdered just weeks before his birthday and leaves behind a six year old son.
