Now might be the perfect time to upgrade your PlayStation experience, as a new Sony event has reduced the price of the PS5 Pro - but you've only got a short amount of time before it expires.

Having a PlayStation 5 can give you access to almost all of the biggest games currently releasing, but five years on from its release you'll find that it's somewhat lacking when it comes to performance.

Most games give you a choice between compromising on graphics or frame rate, and many gamers are left paralyzed between the two as there's often no right answer.

The PS5 Pro eliminates this compromise though, offering enhanced visuals and performance simultaneously thanks to beefed-up hardware and exclusive frame rate-boosting AI-powered software, yet its biggest drawback has always been the price.

Forgetting the catastrophic special Anniversary Edition release of the console which was going for thousands on the second hand market, the PS5 Pro is roughly 55% more expensive than it's standard counterpart which many consider to be too steep, especially with the PS6 on the horizon.

PS5 Pro price slashed in new limited-time deal

Now might be the perfect time to pounce on the Pro though, as a new limited-time event from Sony has reduced the price of its flagship console, but you'll need to be quick.

As indicated on PlayStation's Days of Play blog post, the PlayStation 5 Pro now has a flat $50 reduction applied to it, slashing the price down to a more manageable $649.

This is still considerably higher than the base PS5 console, but the performance boosts that it offers will definitely be worth the upgrade cost for power users who want the most out of their living room gaming experience.

If you're simply looking to pick up a new console though then the new PS5 Black Ops 6 bundle deal will be perfect for you. Available to gamers in the United States and Canada, this is just $399.99 / $509.99 CAD, which is $50 cheaper than the soon-to-be-released Nintendo Switch 2, as reported by The Verge.

When does the PS5 Pro deal end?

You only have until June 11 to take advantage of this PS5 Pro deal and any other of the fantastic savings that are part of the Days of Play event, so make sure to act quick because you likely won't get a price like this again any time soon.

Once you've picked up a new console though you might want to check out some of the amazing games available as part of the PS Plus library - with one this month being a Grand Theft Auto game to tide you over during the long wait for GTA 6.
