People discover that GTA 6 leaker 'lied' after watching Rockstar's Extended Look
Many fans have used the recent GTA 6 Extended Look to 'prove' that recent leaker CyberLeek 'lied', as they claim that the build wasn't as recent as it was made out to be in the clips.
Rockstar were bound to be frustrated after over a dozen clips of GTA 6 leaks just days before the official Extended Look premiered on Netflix, yet what likely irritated developers even more is that it likely didn't represent the current state of the game.
Lots of conversations surrounding the leaked footage, shared by an individual known as 'CyberLeek', involved speculation regarding how recent the build being played was, especially after the leaker indirectly confirmed that they were indeed in control of the game.
The inclusion of certain songs that released as recent as last year appeared to suggest that it was a fairly recent development build, yet footage shown off in the Extended Look has in the eyes of many fans shown a clear upgrade.
Is there proof that CyberLeek lied?
While CyberLeek made no explicit claims regarding how recent the build they were playing was, many were led to believe that it was close to the finished product, and new footage shown off by Rockstar appears to have dispelled that.

People have pointed towards enhanced visual fidelity, improved NPC animations, and even missing or altered features like the UI text or yellow and red hit markers when shooting at people, as these simply weren't present in the 15+ clips shared by CyberLeek.
One commenter on Reddit speculated that the "build is probably 6 to 12 months old," adding that "the map is complete, as are general mechanics and complete cutscenes, but the graphics appear to be in a reduced state with reduced detail likely for debugging game mechanics without fighting with lower frame rates."
They add that the build was likely only meant to be seen internally with the view that it was clearly unfinished, yet exposing that to the world gave people a potentially tainted view of GTA 6 before Rockstar themselves could offer clarification.
The developer has even asserted that development is still ongoing despite the November release date remaining set, and that's also likely possible due to the lack of any physical copies that would necessitate an earlier deadline for completion.
What value do the leaks hold now that official footage has been shown?
One thing that fans have seemingly confirmed after the Extended Look, however, is that there's little interest in content shared by CyberLeek anymore, effectively proving what one ex-Rockstar technical lead proclaimed amidst the chaos.
"Now I see why Rockstar wasn't stressing too bad," wrote one user in a popular post on Reddit, with a commenter underneath adding that "the extended look has blown CyberLeek straight into irrelevance.
"I only saw limited bits rather than full clips and they did look incredible," they clarified, "but this was something else entirely. I was worried the leaks would ruin the surprise of what Rockstar had in store for us and wanted to show off but they haven't at all."
It was almost perfect timing for Rockstar to silence the concerns of fans with what they had prepared, and those eager to see as much as possible got the best of both worlds through the more natural gameplay displayed in the leaks, alongside the more impressive yet structured presentation of the Extended Look.
