Apple might finally be discontinuing a staple product of theirs after 14 years and people are saying that it’s a ‘huge loss’.

As you might already be aware, Apple is about to commence their ‘Glowtime’ event today, which is expected to reveal some major announcements.

The tech firm will be unveiling the new iPhone 16 as well as the Apple Watch Series 10 and other rumored products.

It’s also hoped that we’ll find out the confirmed release date for iOS 18, which will be bringing plenty of new features for iPhone fans to enjoy.

A notable new feature is Apple Intelligence, which is the company’s highly anticipated AI as it promises to completely change the way we use our devices.

However, with all of those exciting new additions and changes also comes with a potential loss.

New information is suggesting that Apple might finally be saying goodbye to the EarPods.

This is according to one user on X, formerly Twitter, who has claimed that Target has listed all three versions of the EarPods as being ‘Non-Carry Forward’.

People believe that this means that wired earphones might soon be discontinued by Apple.

The rumor has not been confirmed by the firm but with their event set to begin shortly, hopefully all will be revealed soon.

The EarPods have been a staple product for years but ever since Apple removed the headphone jack from the device with the launch of the iPhone 7 in 2016, they’ve been declining in popularity.

That same year, the company also released the first model of wireless AirPods.

The latest version of the product comes with a lightning port so that it can be connected to the newer models.

Last year, with the launch of the iPhone 15, Apple decided to switch from the lightning connector to a USB-C and so new EarPods were released to fit the model.

The rumor has people taking to social media to share their thoughts, with one user writing on Reddit: “This would be a huge loss. The mic on these are the best.”

Another said: “Wired mics >>>>> wireless mics.”Oh damn.

A third person wrote: “If this is true I’m gonna get a few pairs of the USB-C ones.”

A fourth added: “I really hope they don't. They may not sound the best, but they're fine enough for what they cost and I much prefer their mics over the AirPods. Plus they're available with three different connectors.”

And a fifth claimed: “These are unironically the best apple headphones.”
